hope that this means that Jackson is now ready to do some work for the Patriots. I did have high hopes for gabe but now those hopes have crashed and burned.
Re: Gabriel released, Patrick released, G. Scott and Phinisee signed to practice squa
Stupid move! What warranted the decision to release Gabriel? Gabriel is better than Caldwell, Brown, and Gaffney. The only reason why you guys may disagree is because he hardly saw the field. When he was on the field, Brady looked for him all the time and played ok. Then he fumbles one ball, loses the ball against the Jets and never sees the field again. So don't tell me it's a lack of grasping this complicated offense that McDaniels has installed (sarcastic). It has too be that he wasn't getting along with the Pats organization. Sometimes the Pats are so damn stubbern with their players they sit them for no reason. Look at Greg Spires, when he was with the Pats, Belicheck hardly played him. Then he goes to the Bucs, starts and plays really well winning a superbowl. Sucks for Tom Brady, another reciever gone.

Does anyone know if the 5th we sent to Oakland was conditional on Gabriel being on the roster all season. Kind of a wierd move unless they really need the roster spot. Message to the troops?

Evidently, he wasn't better then Caldwell, Brown and Gaffney. Not in the total Patriot package. I doubt it was about one fumble. The organization will continue to make the moves which are consistent in their philosophy. If they do that, I believe it is the correct procedure, long term. Maybe BB is sending a message to the rest of the team. Jimmy Johnson would always cut a player each year during Dallas's run. This team maybe in need of some shaking up, and maybe Gabriel has been less then positive in the locker room. How would we know? Greg Spires, that's the best you could come up with?

Well that sucks. I know we have a lot of conditional choices coming but this seems to be a pretty cavalier attitude about burning draft choices on losers. He had to be a major pain in the *ss for BB to take this action.

I think someone in another thread mentioned that Gabriel was on the field and the target in a few of Bradyy's INT...(or was I dreanmin that??) I too ha dhigh hopes for him..thought he was going to be a good receiver..BUT obviously as many have said..there was MORE going on under the radar.and that is why he hardly saw the field. It also means they may have seen more in Kight and Gaffney as well. Jackson?? HE finally may be ready. Phinisee and Sxott?? NOT bad...Scott really was hurt way too much; 2 years in a row with knee injuries. NOT good.
