Default Question for the board

We've won 3 SB's distributing the ball, and that will continue but..
With Dillon,and maroney(and a questionable wr set)
Is it time to play smash-mouth football and ride our backs???

I think we have the backs and the o-line to do it.
At least for a couple weeks, and establish an attitude for the future

Yes.

A smashmouth FB would be nice, too.

do not think 'smash mouth'--that is a perspective

think 'ball control'--that is a tactic--and one that NEP will employ with Brady's passing as well as the RB platoon

Think about this phrase, "distributing the ball," and how it applies to a three back attack that gained 183 yards in the Buffalo game? What has changed? With the TEs available, there is still 'ball distribution' which we saw against Buffalo (it might have looked better if Tommy wasn't one hopping and throwing behind Graham), he had three wide receivers and hit two of them, he threw to all three RBs (I don't remember if Evans was in for a pass play, don't think so). Now between run and pass, what more distribution do you want?

Balance is the key as well as taking some of the load off Brady's shoulders. We let teams back into games by going three and out and only burning 21 seconds off the clock during the third quarter.

I saw an interesting stat the other day. Over the past ten years, Denver is the team with the most regular season wins and most points scored.

Then our offense is not a crushing time-consuming ball-control running offense. IMHO, that type of offense is helped tremendously by a fullback. We shoose to use two tight ends instead as our blockers and as receivers, which is fine.

With regard to the main point of the thread, I agree that the key is balance between a running and passing game. A second key is to be able to have a time ussing running game for the end of the game. Finally, we must be able to adapt to different opponents, so some weeks we may emphasize passing or running, or certain kinds of game plans (e.g. testing their corners deep).

Pity.

With one on the 53, this offense could play any style, any time.

Asuming that our WRs can force the DBs to respect the intermediate/long possibilities.

The verification of this assumption begins approx. 37 hours from now. Quoth Monty Python's John Cleese, as a foreign tourist who is reading from a faulty translation book: My nipples are erect with anticipation.
