Has Kaczur been put on IR? Is there anything more than Belichick's comment that his condition will continue to be monitored?
last i heard of him was that he was seeking a second opinion, which certainly isn't promising. However, with the given time that has elapsed since his injury, there must be some legitimate deliberation regarding whether or not he should be kept on the 53 until he's healthy.
Something from the pfw blog caught my eye. It was a note on Connolly: "The same might be said for Dan Connolly, who once again manned the left guard spot between Matt Light and Dan Koppen. After a lot of bodies rotating through the guard spots early in camp, Connolly has become the regular of late. Unless Kaczur gets healthy quick, it looks like Connolly is on his way toward opening day."
i don't know how much to read into it, but that makes it sound like he will be healthy at some point during the season (just that it won't be for a while).

Rob Gronkowski (6'6" 265 lbs)
Jake Ballard (6'6" 275 lbs)
Logan Mankins (6'4" 320 lbs) (100% recovered)
Dan Connolly (6'4" 320 lbs)
Marcus Cannon (6'5" 340 lbs) (Switch to Guard??)
Holt was put on IR. Warren was put on IR. Apparently, there is still a chance that Kaczur will be on the 53. We've certainly had injured players there before.

Don't know what the team would do, but if he isn't ready to start at guard (and I doubt he is even if healthy) I'd give him an IR vacation. Vollmer is better at tackle and we can continue to work the best 4-5 of the bunch at guard.
I don't agree. If Kaczur is expected to healthy to come back after our bye week, he would would valuable insurance at OT for the rest of the season. He would be the Game Day backup at OT instead of LeVoir. He would also be available if Dante wanted to rest Light or Vollmer for whatever reason. I'm not pushing Kaczur as a starting guard, but rather as a backup tackle. If at any point Kaczur looks like he won't be in game shape by the 5th week (pick your week), he can be put on IR then.

As BB said, he's looking forward to his first injury report of the season--on Sept 7th. Of Brady's finger injury, "it's not life-threatening".

Felger started his question, "Correct me if I'm wrong," BB quickly interjected, "I can't wait--"
``The officials now are evaluating the players and their performance, I mean, that's great,'' Belichick deadpanned. ``I can't say how much that means to me, really.''
Status of Kaczur? He's a turnstile and the weak link of the line
Seriously, the team is in no rush to place Kaczur on IR unless it is clear that he'll be out an extended period of time. Unless Mankins returns from fairyland and realizes that he's not John Hannah, Kaczur is our 5th best lineman. Why prevent your 5th from playing unless you know he's done or you face a roster squeeze? This option need not be considered until the rosters are cut to 53.

FWIW, Kaczur is still on my 53-man roster. Even if he's likely to miss the first several games, I think his versatility along the line makes him worth keeping the spot open for.
