It's not secret that I am not a fan of the local sports media - shoot, not a fan of the national media either. But I just have to say - as I am listening to Michael Felger on Comcast Sports right now: Felger is one he biggest contrarian, nasty pieces of garbage the Boston Sports scene has ever seen....getting very close to Borges/Shaugnnessy sort of disgusting. No journalistic ethics whatsoever.

Numbers

I used to like him when he was on the other radio station, but somehow the combination of him and Mazz (even though you were talking about Comcast Sports) just turns him into a nut case. Even down to the weird cadence he talks with, lifting the end of every sentence as if to turn it into a quesion. I think he thinks this is the way to carve out a niche in the boston sports radio scene, and who knows, maybe it is.

Hate to say it, but I'm not even sure if this qualifies as news anymore. I don't think even Felger believes half the crap that Felger says.

Felger knows what hes doing, his show gets ratings. He knows what to say to rile the local fans up and he doesnt care how he does it. Im not sure he even believes half the stuff he says, he thinks of things to say to get everyone riled. Im amazed at the number of people Ive heard say they like him and his show. Hes better suited for TMZ than sports journalism, he's unlistenable, I cant stand to listen to his show for more than two mintes and I want to throw my radio out the door, maybe his shtick is working on me, I dont know.

That's the unfortunate truth...he does it on purpose to rile up fans, he could care less about the teams so long as he can get people pissed and solicit angry emails and phone calls.

the only thing i would disagree with you on is that i think felger is by far the worst. i stopped watching or listening to anything hes on. thats the only way to stick it up is ass.
