The Associated Press reports the autopsy on Hamilton Tiger-Cats OL Travis Claridge has returned and his death has been ruled accidental. He had an intoxicating level of the narcotic oxycodone in his system and an enlarged heart. Both were deemed major factors in his death.

ESPN is reporting that he died of acute pneumonia.

Your title doesn't match your post. The title says "Overdose" your pasted snippet says "intoxicating level". Sounds like two very different things to me.

"intoxicatng levels" and the fact that its considerd a major factor in his death usually means overdose. Sadly, a college friend of mine died from the same thing. Call it what you want.

genaric for Percocet a narcotic analgesic, or pain killer. Can be addictive.

Having Oxycon in his system at the time of death is not the same as announcing he died of a drug overdose. It may have been a contributing factor. If alcohol or tobacco residue was found in his system, they could also be called "contributing factors".

And honestly, finding oxycodone in a football player is no more of a shock than finding a football player in pain. Brett Favre won a Super Bowl on Oxy's little cousin Hydro (Vicodin).
