Hey, Belichick may be mad, but at least the whining fans will be happy.

Team sources said Patriots owner Robert Kraft, after the departures of Willie McGinest and Adam Vinatieri, stepped into the negotiations to help retain the 34-year-old Brown.
EVEN IF RK *would* step in, I doubt 'Patriots Sources' would divulge.

So much crap...

Agree. I just don't buy it, from a couple different angles.

I read that and wondered how credible that blurb about Kraft was. There is no closing the barn door now - Willie, AV and Givens are gone so it really doesn't make sense and Kraft would have gotten involved much sooner if he was so inclined. Think that is total BS on Carfados part......

Oh, I totally agree. I was just being my usual sarcastic self. I'm one of the few who hasn't griped about every player that leaves. The only player I didn't want to see go is Willie but even him I understand.

Kraft stepping in doesn't mean that Brown was offered more money. It could mean that he personally told Troy how much he wanted him to stay, promised him a job with the team after he retires, or something else altogether. Who knows? Maybe Pioli and BB asked Kraft to step in. Maybe that was the way they sealed the deal.
