Default Defensive scheme

Captain obvious checking in.. In 2008 the Jets ran basically the same scheme as the Patriots and averaged 22.8 PPG. In 2009 Ryan takes over the same unit and they average 14.8.

Scheme and attitude a good combination for a defense (not to mention talent). Hope this is a wakeup call for the folks at Gillette.

Not the same unit, last years team didn't have Bart Scott, Leonard and Revis is definitely come into his own. I would argue that he is the best CB in football.

So definitely not the same unit.

They have a great scheme and they added Bart Scott who is a nasty SOB. The Pats don't anybody like that. They prefer slow D-lineman, bad LB's and midget CB's.

hahahaha - im ok with giant slow D-lineman to occupy space but in order for that to work we DO need fast athletic linebackers dont we... =T

I thyink its a great point.
However the Jets to their credit have gone for QUALITY instead of quantity and it shows.

The PATS need all three

players
scheme
attitude

As much as I hate the JETS they have become what every NE football fan would like the PATS to be
when did BB decide to become a finesses coach

I desparately want someone in Foxboro with Rodney's attitude. We absolutely don't have that. Was hoping it would be Mayo - but I don't see it from him.

Start playing the Pat Chungs of the world from the outset. We all know James Sanders is limited and is not the future and we drafted Chung to be the future to play along side Meriweather. Damn it then BB, play the kid instead of grooming him in. You wanted 2nd round draft picks, well because of that piss poor strategy, these 2nd round guys get to sign little 4-year contracts and then fly the bleepin coup after they are finally groomed. Well if Chung finally gets on the field in Year 3 as a fulltime starter what good is that BB ?

Play him from the outset and let him learn, we would have been better for it right now.

Bend but don't break may be dead in todays offensive minded NFL. You have to be aggresive, force negetive plays. Get people into 3rd and long. You can't just keep everything in front of you and hope your good on 3rd and 3......
The rules are'nt in your favor.
