The players get a certain percentage of the total nfl revenues.

If there is no CBA why do they think that they will get more ?

Economics says that small market etams will set small budgets thereby more money in the owners pocket. Why do they think that they will get more. If anything I would be looking at hockey as a possible future. All players took a 20% paycut.

I don't know how you can compare NHL to NFL.

The whole NHL is probably worth slighly over $3 Billion. The Patriots alone is worth over $1 Billion.

There is just no comparison at all.

You can't look at what the teams are worth. You have to look at the revenues generated each year. There is well over 4 million (plobably closer to 6 million) in revenues that is generated by the NFL. However, you have teams like the Patriots, Steelers and Redskins who generate significantly more than teams like the Cardinals.

* Because many owers will fall all over themselves offereing big contracts to get players. Not all owners, but many will. If the players were going tp be worse off without a CBA, the owners wouldn't care so much about not having one.

I think the socialism side to the draft and the salary cap make alot of sense. But it is a negative factor when smart, hard working owners are forced to share extra money with the slacker teams. The players should receive some portion of those extra revenues because they are the initial basis from which the income is derived.

The league needs a salary cap, the owners deserve the extra income, the other owners don't deserve to share more than 20% or so of that. The players deserve some of that extra money also that's perhaps seperate from the cap. Where thay earn according to years and the league and importance to the league. I would like to see less of that extra income go to players and teams and more to the retired players who plowed the way for todays riches.
