Default Interesting Stats

First 6 years in NFL

Tom Brady 2548 att-1577 comp-61.9%- 18035 yd -7.08/att, 11.44/comp- 123TDs - 66 Ints- 3 Championships

Joe Montana 2077-1324- 63.7- 15609- 7.52- 11.79- 109- 56- 2 Championships

Montana won his 5th 4 years later.

For Brady to EXACTLY match Montana's career #s through 11 years in the NFL, over the next 5 years, his average season would need to be:

302attempts-203completes- 2604 yards- 19 TDs- 9 Ints, and win one more Championship.

A further step is that Brady throws more than 302 times a year, so if we cut 2 years off, and have Brady matching exactly Montanas #s 2 years sooner, he would need to avg for the next 3 years

503-383-4340yds-31TDs-14 Ints, and one more ring.

Very amazing comparison between the 2.

One further note.

Starting with the season they first played reguarly, after 5 years, the teams win lost records are:

Brady/Pats 58-22 + 10-1 playoffs
Montana/Niners 47-26 + 7-2 playoffs

Thanks for compiling all those stats. To play devil's advocate for a minute, though, I don't think QBs in Montana's time, on the average, put up as good stats as today. And one thing Montana did much better was run, when he had to. Brady is really good, but he's not up there with Montana yet.

Brady is far from perfect...he makes the sometimes dumb interceptions.

And that last playoff game was a doozie by all.

But he is still the best current qb by far.
