Default Brady defends Moss...

highlights of the D & C interview...do not see it posted yet on EEI.com

Brady pulls out all the stops in defense of Moss | ProFootballTalk.com

Quote:
•The interception Brady threw in Moss' direction wasn't the receiver's fault: Moss went to the spot he thought the ball would be. "I don't think you can blame Randy on that one," Brady said.
•"Randy is one of the best players in the history of the NFL," Brady said. "When it doesn't go perfect out there, everyone wants to jump on Randy."
•Brady even went after Gamble: "I've seen plenty of plays made on Chris Gamble too over the course of the season.
•Brady said the Patriots have got plenty from Moss all year, citing his top statistics. "Every game-plan that the defense comes up with is trying to stop Randy Moss. They all say 'OK, we have to stop Randy Moss.'"
•On his relationship with Moss: "He is one of the favorite guys I've ever played with. He's one of my good friends on the team. I'm always trying to keep everyone motivated, whether it's the receivers or the offensive linemen
."

You have to listen to the audio to grasp all he said, and didn't say. Context. It was a tortured "defense" that bullits cannot quantify. Tom is fighting to keep him from checking out out altogether. He never really absolves him. He rationalizes. He likes him. He needs him. He has no choice.

BB faces an even more challenging task than his QB today, what does he do in film breakdown...gloss over it...tear into it like he would if it were anyone else...cancel the session altogether...

Good luck guys.

I heard the entire interview. It was embarrassing to listen to his defense of Moss. But it was hilarious later on in the interview when Brady talked about what it takes to be a leader and few if any of those qualities cited by Brady applies to Randy Moss.
But I do give credit to Brady for one thing, he's a very loyal dog owner.

Even before this recent bad patch, I noticed Brady and Moss don't appear as close to each other as they were in 2007, or even in training camp this past summer. Don't know exactly what is going on.

I wouldn't agree with that - granted I was only at TC for one day, but they still seemed to be BFFs to me.

It appears you need some downtime also. Step back, take a breath and relax.

This mirrors the Baltimore game where one first half roughing call becomes a national obsession.

It's amazing a team can win a game 20-10 and the talk of the industry is the poor play of one player on the winning team.

Please tell me you didn't just judge their "closeness" based on a few shots a game of the sidelines on a TV feed? Please tell me you've been in the locker room or know them both personally or something, anything!

This is getting ridiculous, Moss does nothing but help the team that we all claim to love, yet many of you do nothing but dog the guy and hold him to ridiculously high standards.

All of his teammates are liars, Gamble is a genius and now let's pretend to know what is going on behind closed doors.

They appeared close at training camp, as you observed, but not so much anymore.

Brady is never going to throw Moss under the bus publically no matter what he thinks. He starts to say Moss is dogging it or plays the no comment game, he could alienate both Moss and the rest of the lockerroom.

i'm starting to believe that because Maroney is improving and with AD about to take some time picking splinters from his arse that Moss is the new target.

He is what he is, gifted and a little bit moody, which leads to some bad days.

Sometimes you have to get one to reap rewards from the other.
