While I agree that taxpayer money shouldn't be used to benifit a specific business, it's a better use of stimulus money on road infrastructure than the total waste of taxpayer stimulus money that the Secretary of Transportation already spent puting up new highway mile markers every tenth of a mile.
Fix a dilapidated bridge.

Simply because the highway markers idea was a ridiculous waste, that doesn't make the Foxboro idea a good one. Most of us on this site love the Krafts and the Pats, and with good reason, but this idea is a bad one and if the Krafts accept this, quite honestly, I'll never quite look at them in the same vein.

Isn't the T in need of some repairs/infrastructure also?
I don't get this.

Hmmm.... lotsa "Krafts don't need thing" blah blah blah-ing.
The whole point is to get jobs right ? Who is responsible for people working ??? How many employees does R. Kraft have ? How many people depend on his money and his decisions ? How many people in Foxborough have jobs because Kraft came in and saved the franchise ? How many people have worked on the buildings and development around Patriot Place and will work there in the new buildings ?
Sure, sometimes the rich get richer - but he is the one who put his neck out there with an unprecedented $172m for the franchise. He incurred all the risks. Yes, it's worked out handsomely, but not many were willing to gamble.
Just playing devil's advocate... but the more Krafts we have out there, the more people they need to work.

Hear hear! There are actual public works projects that are essential to the national infrastructure: bridges, railways, subways, roads, airports, harbors, ports, lighthouses etc. These things are examples of a portion of what the Federal and State governments were created to deal with. there is simply no excuse for using a single penny of taxpayer's money (OUR MONEY) on a commercial sports venue.
