Default Some surprising DEN-NE statistics

Surprising in general in how close they are (with the one obvious exception).

Third down efficiency: NE 5/14, DEN 6/14
Plays run: NE 61, DEN 75
Net yards: NE 305, DEN 424
Net rushing yards: NE 96, DEN 103
Net passing yards: NE 209, DEN 321
Times tackled for loss: NE 1, DEN 2
Sacks allowed: NE 1, DEN 2
Takeaways: NE 2, DEN 1
Pass completions: NE 19/33, DEN 35/48
Average passing gain: NE 6.1, DEN 6.4
Field goals: NE 1/2, DEN 2/3
Red zone efficiency: NE 2/2, DEN 2/3
Goal to go efficiency: NE 1/1, DEN 0/0
Final score: NE 17, DEN 20

The silver lining in this is that despite the fact the Pats did not play well in the second half, and may well have lost Light for the year , they still were very close to winning this game.

completion %: pat 57%, den: 72%

Brady does have 2 pro bowl receivers. What's up with that 57% completion? Is he not playing well or is it (still) wr's fault? Watching colts-titans right now, Manning has put up big numbers without his #2 wr all year.

There is no silver lining. Winning the turnover battle doesn't mean anything when the pick was a joke Hail Mary. The Patriots coached and played horrible the second half and deserved to lose.

If I had to guess, I'd say Brady's still getting used to the mechanics of throwing on his "new" knee. A lot of a QB's throwing comes from outside the arm, so I suspect it has something to do with that.

We never pass without Volmer. And maybe is a good decision, cause one dropback results in a Fumble

Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

On the fumble play, I thought Vollmer blocked his man well; Mankis lost his blocking angle when Brady stepped up too high (right next to Mankins right arm). Holliday cut to his left and got Brady. If anything Brady could have slided to his right, and he would have 2 more seconds to make the throw.
