I'm going to the game this weekend, and have a question regarding how long it takes to get out of the stadium and back to Boston on average. I have to catch a bus this weekend around 7 o'clock, and want to know if I'll be ok, or if I should park at a lot up the road.
Usually when I go to games (a couple per year), I stick around and tailgate after, so I never really even pay attention to how long it takes to get out of the place. If the game gets over at 4, should I be able to get back to Boston by 6 even I sit and tailgate for 45 minutes (assuming I would be just sitting in traffic if I leave at 4 for an hour). Thanks.

If the game gets over at 4, should I be able to get back to Boston by 6 even I sit and tailgate for 45 minutes (assuming I would be just sitting in traffic if I leave at 4 for an hour). Thanks.
45 minutes doesn't let it empty out enough. Although it varies depending how far up an asile and away from the gate you are, I left right after the game and was parked at the quick end of an isle right near the tix booths main road in P10 and it took me until after 6PM to get out and to Rt 2A, probably thru lots less traffic than going to Boston.

It may vary, but I regretted not geting into the far left (probably for political reasons) lane on route 1 heading towards Boston. This last Sunday it moved much faster.

My guess is that you'd be better off parking north of the stadium and doing your best to get on the road ASAP to get to Boston by 6 after the game.
My experience is that parking in P10N (across rte 1 from the stadium) and going north will get you stuck behind an awful lot of people. What happened to me was that we were able to get out of P10 within a couple of minutes quite quickly (I thought we were going to be in great shape) until we got onto Rte 1 N and basically sat there for well over 1.5 hours while the police let pretty much everyone out in front of you. All the lots like the Ford dealership, the liquor store lot, everything, was emptied out by the time we passed it because they'd stop traffic and let the people parked further north out of their lot in front of you.

Yesterday, it took about 90 mins to get to I-95 at Walpole. You are better off staying away from the stadium lots !

Any of the non stadium lots should be good though, correct? I'll probably get there around 930, so we're there fairly early. Should we just take the first lot we see a mile back, or some of the non stadium lots as we get closer. I've never really paid attention to the other lots, are any of them even within a mile, should we go to those or farther back. I have no problem walking a mile to the stadium. Thanks.

Since you need to get back to Boston, it is better for you to park a bit down from stadium with easy access to I-95 N. But you should also consider the fact that you may have to leave early ( since you have to walk quite a bit ) if you park far away from the stadium to beat the crowd. yesterday quite a few people left in the middle of 4th quarter. So you should plan accordingly.
