Default Play calling

I accurately predicted run or pass for over twenty Pats' offensive plays in a row. Missed one, then got twelve more correct. That's a large portion of the game. The people I was watching the game with started looking at me as if I was scary.

So yes, I've been watching football for over three decades but I don't think this is about me. Thoughts run from:

-this is easy to do when watching from the high angle view TV offers

-luck

-the Pats have become that predictable

Anybody else have a similar experience?

I agree the playcalling on both sides of the ball has been predictable.

If a guy sitting on a couch at home can see it, you can bet the opposing defense knows what's coming too.

Fortunately for us, Brady is simply too good, so good that most of the time it doesn't even matter.

I think part of the problem is they almost never pass when they are in obvious running formations, if Maroney is in backfield with Brady not in shotgun we run the ball 99% of the time.

It seems the only time we have success running is when we are in the spread & run draws, imo.

Wow, that's cool. Maybe you should play the lottery.

I actually guessed ALL the offensive play calls for the last 5 minutes!

The Patriots offense is less about guessing run or pass - deception isn't a huge part of their offense, save for the play-action, which is nearly always successful, perhaps because its used sparingly. I liked the play-calling save for some of the 3rd and short and 3rd and goal calls. The sheer amount of formations and weapons they were churning out is what impressed me actually.

In the second half it was a no-brainer. Brady was in the shotgun and he was going to pass. I thought the Bills were pretty predictable. Edwards would come up to the line and think pass. If he called an audible then it was a run.

Most fans do it with most games. Its not hard when you realize what the situations are and what needs to be done.

Who would say run with 3 and 10 and down 11 with 4 minutes to go?

I thought it was scary when my brother who hates the Pats and hadn't watched any of the game up to this point came into the room where I was watching the game.....It was like 3rd and 3 I believe on the Bills 25yd line (or close to it) and the Pats lined up in the gun 3 wide and my brother said they are going to run Faulk to the left for the first down. Sure enough it was a run to the left for the first down. He not only called it being a run but even called the side they were going to run to and I was like WOW. That told me there were being predictable.

so as an opposing defense do you start to cheat up on the run?

I can't trick you into thinking I'm going to do one thing unless I CONSISTENTLY do that one thing... until I feel like tricking you.
