The Patriots traded their original 5th to Tampa for Alex Smith. They traded their original 3rd to Oakland for Burgess, and tentatively their original 4th. If the Pats re-acquire a 5th, they will give that to Oakland instead of their 4th.

Nice, those 4 day 1 picks are huge. I'm glad we've moved some of those day two picks. We have enough youth developing on this team, especially since next season we will be able to take guys from the practice squad from this year's draft (ie, Edelman, Richard, Pryor, etc) and our PUP & IR guys, ie Tate & McKenzie.
Basically, between 3-6 guys from the 09 draft will be "rookies" in some sense for us in 10. Just one more reason I don't see why anyone is worried about losing a late 3rd rounder and another day 2 pick for Burgess.
