Default Is it M or W?

Patriots Weekly came up with an oddity in drafts 2003 2004, 2005,
players with last names W Was drafted Warren,Watson, Wilfork.In the years
2006, 2007,2008, players with m was drafted Mankins,Maroney,Merriweather, Mayo all selected in first round.

Alright, I'll play along.
I'd say an "M" is far more likely than a "W"

Rey Maualuga, Clay Matthews, Aaron Maybin, DJ Moore; I can't think of any "W's".
