Lightbulb Overview

I hope its alright if I open up this thread.

Is it possible for someone to give me an overall big picture of what we have going forward so far, who we signed thus far, who we might sign, what we need, and who we might draft?

Its a lot to ask for but I'm sure someone has the time on their hands

I've been away from the PC a long time now, so I haven't had time to follow this stuff closely

Much appreciated

Im from Stamford!!

The theories are theories. To summarize what happened was the chiefs and patriots made a deal to trade cassel and then lions, bucs, and broncos tried to trade for him but was to late bc the deal with the chiefs had already gone through!

just the usual whiny *****es --- don't pay any attention.
look at it this way: could you imagine a deal or signing where they WOULDN'T come out of the woodwork?

some people are just unhappy people.

What might be go for in the draft?

Is BB going to keep all of his draft choices or make some sort of package deal for a higher pick?

Well there are a bunch of rumors saying the New England might go after Julius Peppers, but again just rumors. BB has a plan and keeping hush which is making everyone speculate his next move!! I am speculating, I have no idea what he is going to do, but in BB we trust!!

Pretty much. In more detail (addtions in bold, losses in italics):

QB: We traded away Matt Cassel for a #2. Brady, O'Connell and Gutierrez are set.
RB: Heath Evans is an UFA and is currently unsigned. We signed UFA Fred Taylor from Jacksonville for 2 years @ $5M. Maroney, Morris, Faulk and Green-Ellis remain.
WR: We lost Jabar Gaffney to Denver in FA, and we cut Kelly Washington. We curently have Moss, Welker, Sam Aiken and Matt Slater. Moss restructured his deal to save $1M in order to sign Taylor. Mike Furrey is the only FA WR we have shown public interest in so far.
TE: We signed Chris Baker (UFA from the Jets) and Brad Listorti, in addition to Watson, Thomas and Tyson DeVrees.
OT: We allowed Wesley Britt to become a UFA; he is currently unsigned. Light, Kaczur, LeVoir and O'Callaghan remain.
OG/C: We resigned Russ Hochstein, and cut and then resigned Billy Yates. Mankins, Koppen, Neal, Connelly and Wendell stay the same.

DT: Wilfork, LeKevin Smith and Titus Adams are on the roster. Contract extension talks with Wilfork are said the be heating up.
DE: Mike Wright is currently an unsigned UFA. Seymour, Warren and Green are set.
OLB: In one of the big shockers, we traded Mike Vrabel along with Cassel to the Chiefs. Darryl Robertson was cut. We tendered Pierre Woods as a RFA at the second round level; he has not yet accepted the tender. We signed UFA Tully Banta-Cain (cut by SF) at the veteran minimum for a 1 year deal. Adalius Thomas, Crable, Redd and Angelo Craig remain set.
ILB: We re-signed Eric Alexander at a one year veteran minimum contract. Larry Izzo is current an unsigned UFA. Mayo, Guyton, Bruschi and Ruud remain.
S: Rodney Harrison, Lewis Sanders, Tank Williams and Ray Ventrone are currently unsigned UFAs. We resigned UFA James Sanders to a 3 year/$9M deal. Brandon Merieweather remains.
CB: We have shown interest in UFA CBs Leigh Bodden, Jabari Greer and Shawn Springs, but none have been signed. Deltha O'Neal is an unsigned UFA. Hobbs, Wheatley, Wilhite, Richardson and Spann remain.

K: No changes with Gostkowski.
P: Chris Hanson is an unsigned UFA. Tom Malone remains under contract.
LS: UFA Lonnie Paxton was signed by Denver. The position is open.

I've listed our currently unsigned UFAs as losses for the moment, pending resolution of their status.

Let me know if I missed anything.

Wow, thanks for the in depth answer..

You say we lost Jabar, meaning what?

Did we let him go on our own accord?
