Default Coaching staff

The next few weeks will be interesting. No OC, no QB coach and Reiss is saying that Capers and Seely are expected to not be back.

I wonder if Belichick is talking to any Carolina assistants, they're all being invited back but their contracts are up. Ex Belichick assistants Jeff Davidson (OL here, OC there) and Scott O'Brien (ST) are there.

Patriots style dictates the moves will be careful and only fast if it's possible to be both. Odds are there's a plan in place to look after the Josh situation.

Are there any college coaches that might slide into the bigs to work with the Pats?

My preference would be to bring back Davidson and Crennel as our coordinators.

Crennel is reportedly heading back to Cleveland after hip surgery, sadly (for us).

Losing Seely is not good. He's an excellent special teams coach. Good lord, it's almost like our coaching staff and front office are being gutted.

They're all trying to get some that Pats 'magic' to work for their teams.

Who knows. It may be a blessing in disguise. Maybe whomever the Pats bring in will be able to incorporate the reserve players better into the coverage units so that any injuries that might occur to the top players will result in less of a drop off. The kick coverage unit hasn't exactly been stellar the last 2 years.

Hmm Jeff Davidson seems like a very interesting canidate. He has been with us prior so he knows the system and some of the personell and he has been calling the plays in Carolina so he has experience with that.

One would wonder why he would want to leave there for the same position here? I know we have a better chance at SBs but they have as good a chance as any NFC team over the next few years.

I imagine he won't leave but . . . if you want your shot as a HC, does recent history suggest working for John Fox or Bill Belichick ? Heck, I'm expecting Bill O'Brien to get a HC interview any day now
