I think that we have all learned over the years that BB is always thinking one step ahead. So, I'm sure that he has replacements in mind if they need them.

Also remember we didn't even have an official OC in 2005. It could very well be the same again this coming year.

Right but Josh was wearing a headset and was holding a playsheet - we saw through Belichick's little trick

Special teams stats for 2008:

KR 25.2 yd ave (3rd)
KC 22.3 yd ave (T-10)
PR 10.3 yd ave (T-8)
Punting 36.8 net ave (20)

Last year, IIRC, wasn't much different. I think KC was considerably worse. For all the accolades Sealy has received from BB, the stats really don't back up the rhetoric. Our ST are good, but certainly not great. Would these numbers be much different with another ST coach?

One would wonder why he would want to leave there for the same position here? I know we have a better chance at SBs but they have as good a chance as any NFC team over the next few years.
After the lousy game plan he had for the Arizona playoff game, I don't know about Davidson.

I can see Capers moving on - making a name along with McDaniels - and McDaniels being smart enough to seek out that defensive support

But what's with Seely moving on to the Browns?

He'd been with Belichick 10 years - always as Special Teams coach.

Any indication there was going to be a change? I'd heard Belichick praise the Bills special teams and ST coach numerous times this season. Perhaps there was and is some interest on BB's part in upgrading that position? Or Seely just wanting to step out from BB's coaching shadow as well?

Anyone have any insight there?

Turns out Scott O'Brien was with Denver, not Carolina, this past year and the Globe says the Patriots are interested in him as Seely's replcement :

Browns are zeroing in on Seely - The Boston Globe

Like Seely, he's a highly thought of coach.

Actually, looks like he's actually been hired by the Pats.

Ah, thanks. Denver's ST were crap this year but O'Brien has a strong reputation and I have no idea what Shanahan's philosophy is in playing starters, etc, on ST.
