Crennel is reportedly heading back to Cleveland after hip surgery, sadly (for us).
That doesn't make any sense. Think about it. Lets say you fire someone, and hire a replacement who was friends with the person you fired. Then you are going to rehire the person back in a position under the replacement? I don't think RC needs the money that bad.

I imagine he won't leave but . . . if you want your shot as a HC, does recent history suggest working for John Fox or Bill Belichick ? Heck, I'm expecting Bill O'Brien to get a HC interview any day now
Don't forget money. Kraft might be able to offer him a bigger contract.
Well sometimes change is good too..who knows. Remember BB brought in a lot of guys in cleveland from ground up and no program really to who are in the league/college now like jim schwartz, ossie newsome, saban, savage, pioli, kirk ferentz, pat hill
so if he do it once , he can rebuild again
...Reiss is saying that Capers and Seely are expected to not be back.
Reiss is stating, "according to an NFL source", yet he 's provided no proof of their "defections". Reads like he trusts his source, but is still uncertain with this heading:

- Bill Belichick -
Patriots style dictates the moves will be careful and only fast if it's possible to be both. Odds are there's a plan in place to look after the Josh situation.
Are there any college coaches that might slide into the bigs to work with the Pats?
Can't think of any off the top of my head, but did any of you see the 60 Minutes report on Mike Leach (Texas Tech) a few weeks back?
Quote:
"I'd say first, he's young. Just wait. I'd say also, God help you if he gets hold of the sort of athletes they get at Texas or Oklahoma or USC. Nobody else will stand a chance," Lewis predicted.
Now imagine what he could do with Moss and Welker.

I'm not worried about it - more curious. Belichick knows so many people in football that he always has leads to good people it seems.
why do all of these teams want our coaches? I thought spygate was a huge deal around the NFL (with other teams) and any coach associated with BB would all be vilified and black balled forever!

(i am being sarcastic btw)
Really? I couldn't tell.

Per Lombardi yesterday:
Quote:
3. I hear that new Browns coach Eric Mangini is rearranging the offices and plans on making huge changes in Cleveland. He’s going to put his own stamp on the franchise, and no job is safe. But former head coach Romeo Crennel will stay on in the football operation after he has hip surgery. The Browns might look at Nick Cesario of the Patriots as a GM candidate if George Kokinis turns down the job — which some suspect he may.
