Default The two QB offense

I don't know about you guys, but I am mighty impressed by Matty Cassel and I think I'd like to see him on the team next year. In order to make it happen, I propose the two quarterback offense.

Put Brady and Cassel in simultaneously. You can run the offense out of the shotgun, and direct snap to either. You could take advantage of Cassel's speed by splitting him out wide as a receiver. You could roll Cassel out to one side, and then have him lateral across the field to Brady for a deep bomb to Moss. The possibilities are endless. The only downside is that both are right handed.

Do you think Roger Goodell would suspend the salary cap to allow us to do this? It would probably spark bigger ratings for the NFL as everyone would want to see the big bad wildcat Pats!!

So that means on every pass play, the other team would have two guys who are unblocked, and on every running play, the other team would have three guys who are unblocked, right?

You can't what he's been drinking because there's none left.

It's always fun to speculate. The Pats could find a way to do it if they wanted to, regardless of the salary cap. They'd find a way.

Question is, would there be room in the backfield for both of those mighty egos? Regardless of what they say in front of a mic, you don't get to be an NFL QB without a massive ego. The real skill is not ball control as much as ego control keeping it in check at the right time.

I'd be interested in seeing it happen. Could you imagine both Brady and Cassel being in the backfield with Faulk, and then having Moss & Welker, split out? Hoo boy... give the Wildcat a run for it's money, that's for certain.

I am just kidding around. Obviously this is not meant to be taken as a serious idea.
