Cassel scoring in the red zone when it counted, and coming up with the 2 point conversion, he whined about PI, but other then that I give this guy O player of the week.
Pats D missing a lot of starters, I was impressed with all of the young guys that filled in, and even more impressed with the heart they played with.
Good Pat coaching/game plan adjustments at half.
Brett and Ty,,,,,, I was impressed.

Um, no. Our defense stinks and is decimated. Go for the win at home.
Our defense does not suck. They played a superb second half, especially when taking into consideration all the injuries they suffered. The 3rd and 15 play was absolutely inexcusable, but barring that, they made a lot of plays against the strong Jets offense in this game that will be forgotten by the loss.
am I the only one who wouldve been less upset if we would have lost the game by missing a 2 point conversion at the end?
I wanted them to go for 2. The way the D was gassed on the Jets last drive, I knew whoever won the coin toss was probably going to win, so why go with 50/50 chance. You have a better shot at 2, esp. with all that momentum. Oh well.
Hindsight ...
As for the OP, I think #3:
Quote:
3.) Mental mistakes are killing this team. Watson holds onto the ball, the Pats probably win in regulation. They might have even scored on that bad snap drive. Gaffney should have held onto the ball, but it wasn't nearly as bad of a drop as two weeks ago.
... is the biggest issue. This team is not good enough to overcome multiple bonehead plays. One is possible; but two, way too much. And just forget three ...
BTW, the way he drops passes and/or runs route one yard shy of the first down marker (added bonus -- he'll also fumble!), my new nickname for Ben Watson is The Drive Killer.
Mayo is a beast! So is Gholston on IR or something, I don't really keep up with Jets news.
Good effort by Cassel. The LB corps looks promising for the future with Mayo, Woods, and Guyton.
Pats just made more mistakes this game and lost. Too many FGs in the 1st half and blown chances in the 3rd quarter.
The Vrable call at the end was bogus (but wouldn't have matter, I think Pats would have settled for FG at the end to tie). And the refs missed a grounding call in the 1st half on Favre. I did not see a tip on the one replay they showed.

I think Brett played good when it counted and Ty played poorly when it counted. As Collinsworth pointed out, Law played well when he could bump Moss at the line of scrimmage and he knew he was getting the double team over the top. Law fell apart when covering Gaffney and on the final play in regulation. Brett was inconsistent, but did lead the team on two crucial drives at the end of the game.
