The homers will makes excuses, but here are the facts: The patriots defense is poor. They havent been able to get off the field in 3rd and longs for over two years. There is NO excuse for giving up a 3rd and 15 with the game on the line.

EPIC FAIL!

That's the thing about football. Yes, the D blew it, but it's not like they are the sole cause of the loss.

Seriously AWEFUL OT series on the D. No getting around it. They did some good things tonight, just not on that series.

Dan Pees: if the offense has to get X yards for a first down, don't freaking give them X yard passes on every third down.

I am so freaking pissed right now. Super Bowl all over again (divided by 1,000,000). An amazing last second amazing catch by Moss. Another complete freaking meltdown by our secondary.

On the upside, Cassel was a'ight.

If you're looking for a trend, look no further than who the defensive coordinator has been for the three major collapses.
Why the HELL did we change our base defense in the fourth quarter? The team with Guyton and Jarvis Green was terrorizing the Jets for the third quarter and into the 4th until we tied it. Then we went back to the defense that gave up 24 in the first half. Unreal.

Yes the offense made those mistakes.. yes it cost them yards and probably points.. but they scored 31 points.. and the D gave up 34.. Overall in the NFL if your O gets you 31 points? Thats a job well done.. a D that gives up 34? Failure..
