Default On third down...

I just saw NFL ----- on show time with Collingsworth, Boomer, and Sapp.

They showed some clips on the game against Buffalo..

I was shocked when I heard Bellick state

"On third down - lets run our best play and score"

I don't know when he said it but I assume it was on the last drive.

I was shocked because the patriots ran a QB sneak 2 time before giving the ball to the FIRM.
and we scored on 3rd down.

WOW was BB so confident we would score that he wanted to basically runn down the clock?
I was confused on the first 2 plays

Yes, BB was probably confident that he would score. Yes he was running the clock. He was playing the odds. Odds are you will get 2 yards in 2 plays (The average NFL play gets +/- 5 yards I believe).

I saw on ESPN that Matt Cassel is the best in the NFL on third downs. Pretty impressive!

for the first two plays, all BB wanted to do was to waste time....and then he flaunted his ability and his team as well...

what Matt did was more of a kneel then a sneak...he was never really meant to get the TD...

bb, on third down, after milking the clock as much as possible however, decided it was time to end the games, and show who the master was...and so he did...and scored...

BB did not want to score the first 2 times...he wanted to score on 3rd down however, and he did

When you throw 5 or 10 yard out passes on 3rd down you should be near the top

I want to see some long throws connecting on 3rd down hopefully soon

As they said over on Cold Hard Football Facts:
1st-and-goal: Cassel, QB sneak, 0 yards
2nd-and-goal: Cassel, QB not-so-sneak, 0 yards

I think they would have taken the score on first down if they could have gotten it.

But BB didn't want to fire his best arrow until 3rd down.
