Default Mike Vrabel

Is it just me, or does it seem like he is becoming more invisible each week? It seems like in the middle of the game, I will finally see him in a play, and its like "oh, Vrabels playing today, I have not noticed him yet". It seem like he has only one move, and that is to try to get around the outside of the tackle to get to the QB. No inside move, no spin, nothing. I think offenses have figured out how to play him, just let him run and keep forcing him more and more outside to the point where he is 5 yards behind the play or QB.

Now dont get me wrong, Vrabel has been great for this team and has been a huge part of their success. But with a 4.3 million cap hit next year, his final season, might he be worth letting go of? And saving about 3 milllion.

I agree, Vrabes as I have said before is on the Back 9. It's time to give Pierre Woods some of his game reps and think about saving that CAP hit next year. I agree.

I think he's enough of a flex player that he'll play out his contract.

He's routinely playing blocking TE 3+ times/game as well.

He is playing a differnet side of the ball this year than he has. AD is playing on the LOLB and Vrabes is playing the ROLB. HE has always played on the LOLB position.

This has to have something to do with his lack of sack and pressure this year. Perhaps someone can explain the differences playing on the side he's playing this year.

I thinks Vrables and Adalius have been swapped for two weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if it is either a general sheme/approach change, or it may have even been for specific match ups.

The same thing was said about Seymour, unless we know the game plan we do not know the assignment.. this team has a different plan each week and plays to the strength of the player, the needs of the team, and the weakness of the opposing teams O..

Yesterday was a classic example, Jackson was out.. so Seymour was not called upon to clog up the middle, he was allowed to rush the passer.. If Jackson was playing his role would have been different.. the same for A Thomas..

Time after time we hear these discussions on this board, and then when BB is questioned he comes back with something like it was his best game.. we do not know the assignments and this is Patriots NFL team football.

Tedy has reportedly been washed up for years and yet oddly yesterday we kept hearing his name over and over over...

Honestly we're a fan base that to some extent has lost all capacity to enjoy as Junior so aptly calls it the journey that is each NFL season...

I've noticed Woods out there a few times already. Not sure what the numbers break down to, it could just be that I'm surprised to see him so he stands out, but I think his role has been expanded more than previous years.

What about Gary Guyton or does he only play on special teams?

He does play on ST, but he's been playing a fair amount at ILB as well. Vrabs plays outside primarily.
