A much more pleasant week, with a much better result for the Patriots! But the actual score was a surprise to most of the board: quite a few, 77 people, were bunched between 27 and 34 points.

But three did much better. fgssand and NSpatsfan tied for second, but were still off by two TDs. signbabybrady was so sure of himself that he was the very first one to post his prediction, and a good prediction it was.

Even with the high scores, Bostonian1962 was able to hold on to first place. fgssand's second place finish propelled him 48 spots higher, which just goes to show how close and wide open the season game still is, we're not yet halfway!

to me

OK now that I am done gloating let me explain myself. First off I was not scared of their DE one bit and I thought it would be a coming out party for Cassel. Second when is the last time our DE blew consecutive games, the DE has to much pride to play like they did in San Diego 2 weeks in a row plus Denver was kind of one dimentional especially with Youngs injury. Third the Patriots are playing in Bazzaro world this year down is up up is down and since Denver usually gives us trouble I figured the opposite would happen.

That's a good example of why the one missed week rule was implemented, you're still in the season race as long as you don't miss another.

The first year we did the contest there was no such rule, miss one week and you were out. The leader at the time, shakadave, realized while returning from a business trip Sunday morning that he hadn't submitted his prediction yet. If I recall his tale correctly, he called his wife from the Denver airport and talked her though logging on to Patsfans, finding the contest thread, and entering his prediction. It was ultimately worth it, as he ended up winning that year.
