Default Why is no one asking the question?

How in hell can Bill B. turn over the team to some jamoke who hasn't started a game since high school? The media should be all over him. Veterans coming to this team to win? Taking pay cuts? To be led into a game by a guy with as much experience my local high school QB? And don't give me the "Brady didn't have much experience either" excuse. Brady type players come along every 30 years. Cassel is not Brady. No one other than Manning is even close. And he is HofF material.

It is rediculous. It was almost cute watching Cassel struggle to play during the preseason when Brady was healthy. The fact that he was still on the team was ignored because Tom was healthy and we were winning games.

As long as the ship was afloat and running strong, no one noticed the set of floaties that were in the closet in case the ship went down. Well, guess what...

Brady had never missed a game. It wasn't like this was likely - and I'm not sure what option there was. When you lose a HoF QB, you're in trouble. OK, we could have kept Damon Huard; and we'd have the same problem.

What other team has a great number 1 QB and has someone on the bench that can still have a chance to lead them to the superbowl?

I am exaggerating my point but they took a risk and now they are living with it.

That's about right. The era when you can have two HOF QB's (Montana and Young) on your roster is long gone. The Patriots took a reasonable, calculated gamble in not having a proven backup for "The Franchise." In so doing, they freed up cap room at other positions. Based on the evidence we have so far, that gamble is not working out so well. It's easy to second guess that gamble today, but none of us were complaining when they put together the roster that got them to 18 wins last year.

I think a lot of people aside from some of the vocal mental midgets posting here realize that this team has problems that go beyond the QB. OL is inconsistent in run and pass blocking and susceptible to being physically overmatched up the middle and on the edges, RB's by uninjured committee is inconsistent, DL can't get sufficient pressure absent blitzing, so can't get any when they game plan to stop the run first (that's about what Bill said in his postgame on WEEI). Match all of that up with either an inexperienced QB OR some late 30's veteran with no familiarity with the system and the results are going to be no better and potentially worse... Not to mention most rational people realize there was nothing available worth adding to the roster.

Cowboys have Johnson. Typical veteran back up

Giants have David Carr.. excellent back up

Steelers have Batch and Leftwich.. servicable back ups

Fact is - they still have a CHANCE to win with those guys

How is someone drafted when they never started a game in College... that is beyond me.

Please explain how this group of players, essentially in tact from last year (moreso on offense) looks so completely different? Its all because of TB. Plain and simple. Guess what happens when Tommy B drives down and puts us up by 10-14 points? Opponents running game games bye bye. Oppoenents Offense becomes one dimensional, and our D can go on the attack. Guess what happens when Tommy hits Moss on the deep pass? Safeties can't play down in the box to snuff out the short game. Guess what happens when Tommy makes a quick read and gets rid of the ball? O Line looks the nutz.

This team is not the same as last year. they lost 1 great and another abover average player in the secondary and there were no good replacements out there to be had. Thee also Lost 2 linebackers that were very good nad knew the system very well. The O line is not as good as last year because teams learned that the middle of oline is a little weak. the Giants showed that ins the SB last year. Teams are taking away Moss much more then last year which is shortening the field. some of this maybe changed with Brady some of it may not but the team is still 3-2 and as a soft scheduale and can still do damage. If you don't like make some room on the bandwagon for fans with something smart to say
