Same reason as Izzo. They're outstanding ST players, and BB clearly values them as such.

I guess so, but he did not do well against the Eagles a week ago.

Having two first names speaks volumes about his versatility and BB clearly sees that.

He had two years to get it in New York, he might need to be in a trad 4-3 LB role somewhere.

haha nice. I was thinking the same thing.

I actually heard that Ventrone demanded that Alexander makes the team or he's going to kick some butts. And whatever Ventrone says goes.

Tomorrow Ventrone is going to be playing QB at practice, because he feels like it.

he's a much better alternative than anyone else on the squad to add depth to the inside lb position. AD and Harrison and Lynch might play inside a bit, but what other legitimate options are there besides Bruschi and Mayo? Thomas and the two safeties mentioned above have their primary positions to play. What happens if one gets hurt? Multiple positions would suffer including inside lb. The position is otherwise thin if you think about it (without Seau anyways). And a guy like Guyton doesn't nearly know the system as well as Alexander does. We need three inside lb's we can count on now, and Alexander is the third one on the depth chart (as of now).

He's also much more of a coverage LB than any other backup option on the roster. Guyton hopefully will become that guy.
