Default Cornerbacks MAJOR weakness

I feel like this has been a underrated issue by many on the defense with people talking about age of safeties, linebackers etc. But the corners on this team are awful.

They are giving up huge plays this preseason, and they are not even close to the receivers. Fernando Bryant has been a huge disappointment, while Ellis Hobbs just sucks. He is never even close to a receiver. He is a good nickel and dime package player. Our 3rd stringer is a rookie.

If we don't get a decent corner teams will just throw the ball all day long. I did not think the loss of Asante was a big deal, but now I do since we have no one to replace him.

Let's not let Litto Sheppard out of town. A number two now.
Rodney looked decent. The rest awful. Where are all you James Sanders lovers? This guy should be a cut. Wheatley looked mismatched. Hobbs is a nickel back only, period. Well Hobbs and Wheatley are what, 5' 6" (5' 9" ? right) anyway.....Oh yeah, but they can jump. Ask Plex.
Hopefully the Cassel experiment is done now.
Woods looked o.k. and so did Teddy. Seymour was fine but Vince is off. That's it. What is with Alexander? He looked as bad as James Sanders.
Any safeties out there on the wire?

With our front seven and some Dom Capers magic we can make any CBs look good....

Brutal effort by the defense, it is like they are gliding. Lets hope they can flip the switch in two weeks. Right now it looks like you should put Larry Johnson down for 150 yards...

If the Patriots make the playoffs this year I am never watching a pre-season game again.

If our Front seven would help the secondary out, that might be helpful. The front seven definately hasn't been helping out our secondary.

i think something went vastly un-noticed last yr
we had a very mediocre defense

the reason the defense looked good was because the offense was simply amazing, making the opposing team one-dimensional

on paper i thought the defense looked better this yr
but better than "mediocre" is just "decent"
and it could be argued that the biggest losses (asante, seau) out-weighed the greatest gains (mayo, crable, wheatley, bryant)
without Tom in at qb our offense is pathetic we all know that, and we knew that coming in, but what i'm worried about is if the offense isnt amazing just how "decent" will the defense look this yr

I guess we just have to play dime and nickle all the time even on first down.

But seriously, what you see is what you get other than Ty Law being a possibility. we ain't trading for no one.

Bryant is done, to be honest, he should be cut, he has shown zonk, nada this pre-season, he's been Jason David like, freakin ugly............

Hobbs is what he is. His coverage skills are limited, but he's got heart, to be honest, he's a good nickel back and that's all he'll ever be. He's picked on week in and week out. How would DRC look right now ? He's lighting it up in Arizona............

Wheatley is better than either one of these guys and he better be starting against KC.
