Brady was a damn deer in the headlights again. Game was over when he was too scared to run 4 wide open yards.

Wow, y'all are being harsh on Welker. Last year he messed up big yes but he took an absolute beating today. The drops hurt but he was still our top producer despite all the hits. Give Baltimore credit they basically beat us up into submission. And Flacco played unbelievable maybe the best postseason for a QB to date as much as it kills me to say.

The point is, without a good CB, secondary is not good. Cole, and Arrington are below-average CBs. How do you expect our CBs covering WRs that are fast and can jump-ball?

The other half of the problem is our DL could not pressure Flacco much during the 2nd half. Given that time, our secondary is exposed.

The defense was about as one could expect. No luck in takeaways; an injury that was bad from a matchup standpoint -- it happens.

But the offense was pathetic. The TOs were unlucky, but it's not as if they took a lot of would-have-been points off the board.

This game wasnt meant to be. Lots of things have to go wrong for this team not to competitive and that's what happened. I felt it the moment Welker drops an easy one - to paraphrase the refs from last years SB referees "that's the ball game right there".
We have had a good season. Cant be too down on your team that goes deep into the playoffs every year.

Ugly performance in the 2nd half, the 3rd quarter especially. Bad coaching on both sides, why not try to wear down Baltimore with two te sets and run the ball, they were picking up a good 4/5 ypc. I have no idea why this team just gets tight at times and plays not to lose instead of playing to win. Also Flacco having all the time in the world to throw was just frustrating to watch, why not change up scheme and put some pressure on him, instead of just staying so basic on D? This team needs to stop playing so tight at times and stop just playing not to lose and start playing to win games.

I'm not even mad at this point. Just disappointed and that's not a good sign. I will look back on this season and call it a mild success. But the problem is, I'm getting used to playoff disappointment. The same thing seems to happen now year after year and in this order:

1. The Pats fail to show up in a playoff game. They never seem to lose an extremely close game. The other team just is more physical.

2. People complain about the lack of pass rush, no real deep threat/big WR, and a porous secondary.

3. People say that Brady let the team down. That the offense failed to show up and they blew it.

4. We get over it by mid-February and look forward to the draft.

I'm just going to skip to step 4 and hope we draft a defensive talent.

"Fight on my men" Sir Andrew said
Little I'm hurt, but not yet slain
I'll just lie down and bleed awhile
And then I'll rise and fight again

Let's win it all in New York next season boys! Go Pats!

Yup, I hear you man, but it's that sort of sympathy that's keeping them from championships. Unless they resign him for a considerable bargain we need to let him go. Welker drops big passes, the Superbowl I was willing to call a coincidence, but now it's just Wes Welker doing his drop thing. Woodhead would be fine in the slot, and has the speed to make something out of those easy catches. Doing what Welker does, just isn't that hard, and he is too short. If you're going to be a slow short receiver you can't also be a dropper. I don't see it any other way. He'd be great on a non-playoff team, somewhere like Cleveland maybe.
