For the most part this preseason Patriots fans have seen veteran tight end Rob Gronkowski in a t-shirt and shorts as he continues recovering from offseason arm and back surgery.
Gronkowski didn't take part during any of the public practices at training camp and there has been plenty of discussion regarding his status for the upcoming season, primarily whether or not he'd be ready for the team's opener against Buffalo, or if his rehabilitation would cause the team to place him on PUP before the start of the season.
Recent reports indicated that the veteran could be ready by week three, and on Monday it appears that he's progressing to the point where he's at least starting to work his way back on the field.
According to ESPN's Field Yates, Gronkowski was spotted working on the lower practice field during the media's portion of practice on Monday. He was reportedly seen working with the team's assistant strength and conditioning coach doing agility drills as well as catching passes.
This news comes on the same day that Danny Amendola returned to practice, which was yet another positive sign for Patriots fans as the team continues getting ready for their preseason opener against the Buffalo Bills on September 8th.
The team still has one final exhibition contest, and they'll take on the Giants in Foxboro this Thursday night at 7:30pm at Gillette Stadium.
