Yes, the plan I’m sure was to waive him to have him pass through unclaimed and then place him on injured reserve since it’s going to take the offseason to rehab his knee. The only positive about it happening now instead of during the regular season is that at least he’ll have more time for rehab and get ready for next year.

is this just to open up an extra roster spot?because this move waiving dane fletcher makes no sense!it mirrors the same one last year when they let tully banta cain go,but he used an illegal supplement.dane didn’t do anything wrong,just get injured.when he’s on the field healthy all he does is make plays?dumb move.

Boy I am really bummed! I really thought fletcher was moving his way up the roster and as much as I love our LB core I really saw him as a nose for the ball play maker kind of guy. Hope we get him back!
