Mike Reiss reported via Twitter that linebacker Pierre Woods will be cut today, citing a league source.
Woods was an undrafted free agent who signed with the team in 2006, and this move effectively ends his career here in New England. Last season Woods played in all 16 games for the Patriots, starting five. He finished the season with 36 tackles, 18 of which came on special teams.
