Patriots Expected to Tender LB Woods
The Boston Herald reported on Tuesday that the Patriots are expected to give linebacker Pierre Woods a second-round tender, just as they did last season.
According to the report the deal would pay him $1.759 million in 2010, which is a raise from the $1.545 million he received in 2009.
Odds are pretty good that should be enough to bring Woods back for his fifth season. The only way Woods would leave at that point would be if another team matched that offer, which would mean they would have to give New England a second-round draft pick in exchange for his services.
