After re-signing with the Patriots, it sounds like Julian Edelman got rewarded quite well after a productive 2013 season.

Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald has details on Edelman’s new deal, which is reportedly for four-years and is worth $17-million.  Howe reports the deal also includes a $5 million signing bonus and up to $8 million in guaranteed money and an additional $2 million in incentives that could increase the total value to $19 million.

His cap hits are also relatively manageable and should keep him on the roster barring any drop off in production.  Howe points out that Edelman’s cap hits will be $2.75 million in 2014, $4.25 million in 2015, $4.75 million in 2016 and $5.25 million in 2017.

The veteran receiver will also reportedly earn $9.5 million through his first two years of the deal if he plays all 32 regular-season games.
