Let,s for a second forget about welker dropping the biggest catches of his career the one in Baltimore right in the numbers. The Patriots have gone as far as they will go with welker, sure if you added Wallace and kept welker they would be insane but welker will demand so much they won,t be able to sign a great deep threat like WallaceThey call welker Brady's security blanket, well Brady doesn,t need a security blanket he needs a gifted wide out that can stretch a defense.

You say the offense is too dependent on Welker but then argue we need other players... other then money I dont see how Welker can detract from other players or positions making plays....esp on defense.

We have a great versatality in Hernedez. Versatile and smart players are a great compliment but we can't always expect our offense to out smart our way to a SB win.. we need a big playmaker at WR. A #1! someone who can stretch the field and make great catches.. to be a complete offense.

I think you logic is flawed. Your basing your theory on the Pats ability to replace guys which has not been as easy as you make it sound. Randy Moss still has yet to be replaced. Every year they look for that guy and Ocho and Llyod have greatly under achieved. Although the Pats are considered more of a "dink and dunk" offense having that guy who stretches the field being absent took away a demension they needed that has not been there since Moss. They have not replaced Ty Law since he left, Richard Seymour (need to see more with Jones), Asante Samuel, and Rodney to name a few. There seems to be an old cliche in New England that was true during the superbowl era that is no longer true that if a guy goes down another steps in his place and can do the job. Well there is no one to replace Welker. Hernandez nor Edelman couldeven come close to his reliabilty. You mentioned a fix could be moving Hernandez to tje slot. Well what happens when Hernandez is hurt? Or Gronk? They both don't have a history of being healthy. Then what do you do? Deion is getting nothing but old and that "emergency list" of guys they create every year are a bunch of scrubs that cant do half of what Welker has done. So to say they should move on without Welker is insane and pathetic. He is one of your best players and the Pats will not win without him. It's pathetic how New England is so quick to be out with the old and in with the new. The new wont work and its pathetic to think otherwise. Pay the man so we can continue to won because..oh ya..all weve done is win!!!

I don't think the Pats offense was any better after Moss. If you put 2 TE's in WITH Moss & Welker you'd have the best offense ever. NE didn't win any of the past 3 SB's because of Moss's absence. The Jets, NYG & Balt all boxed them in w/o any game beyond 20 yds.

I heard you on the Sports Hub yesterday. I agree with all your assessments except Hernandez. He is not quick enough and is too big for the slot. Move him to wide out yes slot no. Slot receivers need to get small often he just hasn't shown that yet. Just a thought.
