Great article, and good points on how important the LB's are in the scheme. Mayo appears to be turning into as dominating (potentially even more) an MLB as Ted Johnson or Harry Carson. And Guyton, Ninkovich, TBC, Fletcher, and Cunningham have all made huge plays, some of them game-changers. In some cases they are still learning but the future looks bright.
The DB's may have in some ways more of a learning curve, but this backfield has made some game-changing plays as well. Their speed and toughness give them a different profile over the DB's from the last few preceding years. In conjunction w/ the LB's the Pats' D seems to be developing a unique profile.
I agree that there will be similarities to the early decade's D, especially in toughness, but speed and creativity will make for some new wrinkles.

Good factual points and opinion. But overall you can strengthen your writing by eliminating "I think" and "I believe". They aren't needed because your audience knows already knows what "you think" and what "you believe" because you're the one who wrote the piece. You'll find that if you take out the "I thinks" and "I believes" your article will read much better. Good luck!
