Woodhead and The Law Firm are a great little tandum, but they are just that, a little tandum.
We need to bring in someone like those two guy’s again.
DeAngelo Williams from Carolina is a free agent isn’t he….?

& Getting rid of some of these plug-in players would seriously help.

DE Jason Babin, great example of BB need’s to go after since he’s not staying with the Titan’s.
This guy is proven talent, he’ll releive the need of using a pick on a DE, and makes sure you get all the O-line you can ( and need ) + that Bad A** OLB. Tully Banta Cain Has seriously got to go!!!

***We do owe K.C. an unknown round pick for J. Page, who knows what the conditions were and what we owe, but with two pick’s in the first three round’s, a 4th, the 5th & the 6th still + they have a fist full of compensatory picks by the way, even though they are untradable and on the back-end.

But if Mankins goes, make sure A/. He get’s sent to a team that is not a direct threat. & B/. If you play your card right, you get a nice key player possition in the deal which sew’s up a missing/needed spot. Inturn means a guarantee that the pick’s are used on what we more need, not just on whats left at that point.

Barring Free Agency talent out there and our own contracts;

**and then add-in free agents to sew thing up!

I agree, it is a no brainer that we need a pass rush. But What I really want to see is a stud strong saftey. The palamalu’s and reeds and eric berry’s define the best defenses.

Sign Mankins
Draft a d-lineman
draft a olb
sign a tall fast wr in free agency ( plenty to choose from)
Draft a big back
draft a corner
draft a guard
find that viciuos safety and dump merriweather

Defense defines your team. Offense wins the afc east and defense wins super Bowls.

I’m with the group that is hoping to trade up to get Nick Fairly, Marcell Dareus, or Da’Quann Bowers. If they decide OLB, Robert Quinn, or maybe Ryan Kerrigan. However they go, pass rusher should be the #1 priority. Priority #2, RB. Mark Ingram or Mikel Leshoure come to mind. BJGE gets the tough yards and doesn’t cough it up, but he’s not a threat to take it to the house. They need a change of pace RB. Priority #3 is a C. Mike Pouncey mayhaps ? Priority #4 I think OL. Gabe Carimi, or someone similar that has a mean streak. Try and fill those holes and go best available talent from there.

I don’t know if i put them in that order but those are clearly the needs. I would say OSLB is top of course but with ty warren coming back i would put OL slightly above DL I don’t think that CB is an issue with bodden returning he has proven to be solid and arrington would be great if he was strictly a nickle corner. I think that i put RB ahead of WR only because i think that price will be seeing some action this year and show sparks of some real talent. I think that a big bruising all purpose back would be a great addition. Some one like Mikel Leshoure 6’2 230 LBS 4.50 40 Great hands, extremely explosive and protects the ball very well, he should be there at 33 if he is i don’t think the patriots will pass on him. Would be nice to see a lil of the pressure of brady to make big plays. With morris and taylor probably leaving they will need someone with no question. These are only my opinions.

Hankerson measured 6′ 1 5/8″ at the Senior Bowl. He may be a good receiver but he’s not a big receiver. My problem with BJGE is that he’s not a good blocker. Supposedly the reason Woodhead got so many snaps against the Jets is that he blocks better than BJGE. I like Woodhead a lot, but I don’t see him as a primary Brady-protector. I think the Patriots need to 1) sign Mankins ad Light 2) draft a pass rusher 3) draft a D lineman 4) draft or trade for a “hammer” running back who can block. If Light and Mankins aren’t resigned them OL becomes a priority.

Great points Rick. The one thing I would add about CB is we do have Leigh Bodden coming back and I have a feeling Butler will bounce back after a shaky sophomore season. Either way, the defense should be the priority moving forward.

i definitely say another effective cornerback, legit pass rusher would change this d to from a bend don’t break sort of d, to a possible dominating defense. With Wilfork, who is say is the pats d’s mvp, Mayo, spikes, who is only going to get better, and mccourty, we have 5 potential game changers. if we can shore up our weakspots and holes, we may have a defense that compares to the own that won us our super bowls. Brian, Asomugha is one of my favorite players but I just can’t see the Pats dishing out that kind of $ especially b/c of Mankins, CBA negotiations, & Bodden’s deal last year

Pats needs a presence at DE, someone that can help Wilfork collapse the pocket and open up holes for the OLB behind him (a la Richard Seymore). Football is won at the LOS and right now the Patriots don’t have the high caliber players to win those battles. Sure, they have a lot of depth on both lines but they really need that game changing DE that can win the 1v1 battles. With a player like that, even a guy like TBC could be a productive pass rusher.

I like JJ Watt, BEAST.
