Why else would you want him to come back? He is a future Head Coach, he just went a little too deep, too soon. So we will see where that leads. Ultimately though from my previous article, I will expect them to promote from within. I just got off of the phone with Steve Balestrieri and he added something to my theory; I expect Ferentz to land the job with Belichick watching over him. He won't get the official title yet, but he will eventually and then I would expect Patricia to be calling defensive plays...Steve added the possibility of for the short term bringing in Steve Spagnuolo who would elevate Patricia's game...he would be here short term obviously as he will eventually become a HC again. You could even think further and speculate of him having a future as a HC here.... Ultimately I think what you say would work though...and I wouldn't complain...I just think the Pats will do what they always do and promote from within. I would expect BB to retain his position as GM and head of Football Operations. I say wait until McDaniels is let go by STL.
