While at one point it looked like the New England Patriots may get injured cornerback Ty Law back just in time for the postseason, apparently that's not going to be the case.

The 10-year veteran cornerback has missed the last nine games of the regular season after suffering a broken foot in an October 31st game at Pittsburgh. The loss of Law makes the second veteran defensive back the Patriots have placed on injured reserve, as the team also lost Tyrone Poole for the year with a knee injury earlier this season.
Law entered the 2004 season needing just one interception to tie the franchise's all-time interception record. Law accomplished that feat on October 17 against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Patriots will have this weekend off and will wait to see the outcome from this weekend's round of playoff games to see who they'll play next weekend. Should Indianapolis beat Denver, they'll face the Colts here in Foxboro next week on January 16th. Otherwise it will be the winner of Saturday's game between the New York Jets and San Diego that will visit Gillette Stadium next Sunday.
