I've had it. I can't just take it any more. Ty Law is scheduled to make 20 plus million over the next two years. He feels disrespected?
The Patriots made him the top paid corner in the league over the past four years. He feels disrespected? Did he offer any money back when Marvin Harrison made him worse than Chris Canty a few years back?
Did you forget? Go back to Week 2 of 1999, a home game against the Colts. Harrison abused Law for 3 TD's in the first half. Do you think he had his checkbook out at halftime offering to cut Mr. Kraft a check? By the way, that was the same year he signed his 50 million dollar contract. A contract I'll remind you, that caused more than a few raised eyebrows around the league at the time. The Pat's changed the coverage in the second half and ended up winning the game. Little thanks to the great Ty Law.
Look, I could go back and find many (meaning not a few, but dozens) times when Law was left gasping for air, while an opponent was either celebrating a first down or a touchdown. I have neither the time nor the inclination to waste another minute on this a-hole.
Remember the interception in Superbowl XXXVI? Law didn't make a great play, or even a good one. The freaking ball was thrown right to him. Yet that's the clip you will see on ESPN when he leaves.
"Overrated" There, I said it. I feel so much better. I've secretly been thinking it for years.
Law is equally as much of a product of successful team defense, as he is of his own talent. Granted, the guy is and has been a good player. Ty Law on his own, is not "great" player. It's been obvious to me for a long time, Ty can't cover speed receiver unless he can chuck at the line or has help over the top. Why do you think the Pats play as much zone as they do? When offenses use motion on their right side, the Pat's always seem to check off to zone coverage. Why is that Ty?
Line Ty up every time in bump and run with a Safety over the top and maybe you have a great player. In true man to man, Law is only slightly better than average.
If the Colt were smart enough to put Harrison in motion more often in the AFC Championship Game the Patriots might not be having this problem. If the Pat's didn't constantly roll help to Law's side, they wouldn't be having this problem. If they didn't get pressure in Manning's face so often, Ty would not feel so disrespected. Then again, they may not have won the game. Harrison may have gone for 140 yards and 3 TD's.
Question, Jarvis Green had 3 sacks in that game, is he a "great" player? Nothing against Jarvis mind you.
I've already wasted enough time thinking and writing about this guy. Our kids have spent too much time being Ty Law in the backyard. The Patriots have spent too much time (and money)on this ungrateful, self-centered, overinflated sense of self worth, money hungry son of a..
Do you feel disrespected Ty? Do you want out TY? Fine, pack your flippin' stuff and get the hell out. Just stop insulting us with the "it's not about the money" bull…… (by the way Ty, how'd that work out for Moe?) Don't tell us about the how great the fan's are. Don't tell us how you will miss all the great guys on the team. Don't tell us how sorry you are that it could be worked out. Just go and don't let the door hit you in the ass.
Go to some team with a lot of cap room and be exposed for the fraud you are. Bring lots of sunscreen, you'll need it. It will take time for your new team to figure out how to cover up you weaknesses and play to your strengths. You do have strengths. I'm an honest man. I won't take that from you. You just don't have nearly as many strengths as you think you do. You certainly don't have 10+ million dollars a year worth.
We can only hope the Patriots can some how turn this into a close to breakeven situation for the short term. Long term, without question, they'll be better off without this 30 something, overrated, overpaid, ingrate on this team. Mark my words.
